(Colder Products Co.), St. Paul, Minn., announces the further expansion of its PMC12 series quick disconnect couplings with options to simplify connections for plastic manifolds. With the new SAE straight thread port options, OEMs can now easily incorporate quick disconnect couplings into their plastic manifolds applications.

“The mounting style of the new PMC12 SAE straight thread ports offers several advantages over pipe threads including a quicker and more repeatable installation, and eliminates the need for thread tape or sealant,” says Grant Wilhelm, senior design engineer for medical markets at CPC. “SAE straight threads feature a more consistent mounting depth because the threads are not tapered and a robust o-ring on the straight thread that provides a secure seal.”
The new polypropylene PMC12 with SAE straight thread ports are perfect for threading couplings into acrylic manifolds that can easily be cracked if excessive force is used when sealing the couplings to the manifold. The SAE straight thread ports eliminate the need for a thread sealant, which is typically required for NPT pipe threads, thus making SAE straight thread ports a cleaner solution.
New PMC12 plastic quick disconnect couplings with SAE straight thread ports are ideal for applications within In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) including reagent handling systems, and in printing and ink handling industries.
